Who we are
EPTA Portugal, representative of the EPTA (European Piano Teachers Association) in Portugal, was taken over in 2014 by the association EPTA-LUSA – Association of pianists and piano teachers, a non-profit association.
Our activity focuses on the dissemination of pianistic pedagogy, through the organization of courses, workshops, forums, competitions, congresses, concerts and festivals that value teaching and help in the training and development of professionals and students, as well as all pianists and amateurs who feel the need for a space for training and dialogue where they can enrich their careers by sharing knowledge and experiences.
Main objectives:
- Contribute to the professional improvement of piano interpreters and pedagogues through training;
- Encourage dialogue between teachers and interpreters, promoting reflection and the exchange of specific knowledge of musical practice through conferences, lectures, workshops and musical recitals;
- Promote innovation and research in relation to the different aspects of pianistic practice;
- Disseminate knowledge of new principles and techniques in pianistic education;
- Promote contacts at an international level.
